Good points you make. However having spent 25 years dealing with Japan (until 2004) I would prefer to see the emphasis there. When relationships are established I found them to be extremely reliable and honourable partners. While never having dealt with Singapore I imagine that would be the same.

To me the States has become toxic ;obviously due to the Trump influence over the last 7 years. My preference is to concentrate on our Asia -Pacific region and form enduring partners like Sumitomo as you mentioned..
