Yes Mozza,
I agree, the PFS should be recognised as a job well done whilst pushing on to get the 40,000 litres processed, which they’re doing to be fair.
US$92m marked as contingency is a relatively large amount but entirely sensible given the likelihood good of unforeseen variables or even unlikely but possible variables.
I thought Steve performed really well on the webinar today. It can’t be easy not having a visible audience, yet you know they’re there.
Anyone with experience of presenting like that and then following it up with Q& A after knows how tough it can be. Over an hour too. I’ve seen a few webinars recently and some CEOs have been struggling.
Steve gave good technical answers on the DLE processing and the actual water treatment as well as saying about working closely with the local Catamarca govt and the local communities wrt to water use, recycling and the possibility of producing more water to the local population.
A chemistry lesson there too on the water treatment and how the beads are worked in the cycle. More people need to hear him explaining things imo, difficult in current climate though.
Solar power as an energy source came up and the potential to reduce the OPEX costs. This really is a trailblazing company with DLE and Solar.
A few questions arose about Kachi as a resource around size, permits, licences. Steve was quick to point out that LKE has 100% ownership, there are no other exploration companies in the Salar or nearby and that Lake has no issues wrt permits or access. He also stressed the size of Kachi again with the reference to Manhattan. I also like the Sydney Harbour one because it illustrated the volume and open resource to depth.
In response to a question about the PFS Steve said it applied to only 22% of the Kachi licences held by Lake and that the resource remains open.
Scale, Location and Low Impurities.
In response to a question about Lilac, Steve said they’d been significant interest from offtake potential partners and interest in general from potential suitors since the announcement of the substantial backing that Lilac had received from such well known and respected investors.
There was lots more too but I don’t have my notes on me now. Steve mentioned getting back tonOlaroz and Cauchari and moving the PP up there eventually but right now the focus has to be the processing of the Kachi brines.
LKE are certainly disruptive and have gone for it. I’ve been here nearly three years and the journey is entering into a new phase. The really exciting one.
