Hi all,
I don't have stock in Webjet so I don't care what the price does at all, I bought around 3 bucks earlier in the year as a scalp and sold them off around $4.50 the day the BLM protests occurred in Melbourne and reported a CV positive patient. That day I, and many others knew that WebJet was not "taking off" anytime soon and they day they plummeted back to April prices.
I urge many of you to revise how you think about the shares you own or want to buy. There seems to be a lot of people succumbing to wishful thinking and falling in love with a particular share. The company has no love or loyalty to you and you would be wise to do the same.
As one other great poster pointed out, having your cash sitting here hoping they boom in 2-3 years time is a lost opportunity. To give you an example I took the cash from Webjet mentioned above and put into a few gold mining companies and am up roughly 50% since selling webjet overall. Had I kept those WJ shares thinking "what goes down must come up" I would be holding 80% of my original investment instead of 200%.
There is no reason why Webjet should boom again. Even if travel returns soon it would be periodic, staged and inconsistent with interruptions from new outbreaks.
There is no reason to believe that there will ever be an effective vaccine for CV-19. There have been some decent Phase 1's around the world but that is just that, a phase 1 trial. It will take 2-3 years for such vaccine to get into public circulation and then 6- 12 months thereafter to start to see reductions in impact.
You have no idea what rate WJ are burning through cash.
You have no idea whether another Cap raise is on the cards.
You have no idea whether administration is on the cards this time next year. Can WJ hold their breath for 4 years on virtually no income? I would be surprised if they do.
EVEN IF Webjet get back to 2019 travel amounts, you will be lucky to get a share price of 6-7 dollars and IMO you won't be hitting that until 2023/2024 and that's assuming no further share price dilution, and successful CV-19 vaccines.
Last but not least, if another pandemic occurs in the next 5 years, this COY is absolute toast like 0.00 per share toast.
Not every company has or will recover from March/April CV-19 impact. There's a reason why the price crashed and hasn't returned and this is it.
I just don't see the risk/reward being worth it, here you have a serious chance of $0.00 per share and the best case scenario you're looking at is 100% return. Not worth it IMO.
