InfraWorks has been working with the National Safety Agency (NSA) and primary supply partner NewSat to develop a new satellite communications for exclusive use by Australian public safety agencies. The new range of Public Safety Services provide secure mobile and fixed services for a wide range of solutions including mobile vehicle, command and staging area remote deployment and communications centre disaster recovery.

The NSA is currently developing an implementation strategy with InfraWorks providing technical design and integration support to enable all public safety and counter disaster agencies including community recovery teams. It allows a unique new high security public safety service to offer fast access to satellite high bandwidth services in a standby mode with on demand services at air time use only access fees. By providing a co-operative service pooled for agency use and removal of stand by fees the service offers unique advantages.

The ERCU combines over 12 suppliers of critical technology into one complete solution based on public safety industry best practice and environmental protection. It’s design by InfraWorks is based on experience with major disaster events including Cyclone Larry, Canberra Bushfire and the recent lessons from the Victorian Fire Emergency and East Coast low storm events.

The mobile ERCU offers:

· Mobile trailer design for 2wd vehicle use, 4wd off road available

· Automatic Satellite Deployment with access to NewSat Public Safety Service

· Motorola HotZone Wireless mesh technology

· Talkswitch VoIP phones

· Korenix high temperature secure router

· GE Digital Energy surge / power filter

· Alpha high temperature UPS

· Alpha high temperature batteries

· LPG back up generator

· Pelican portable work lighting

· FRSA safety equipment and PPE

Additional ERCU equipment includes:

· Radio integration PMR VHF UHF, Marine, Aviation, APCO 25 and Tetra

· Eltek Valere DC power and distribution 12V N+1 24V and 48V

· Omnitronics IPR100 and IPR400

· Public Safety warning and siren PA systems

· LED community safety remote signs

· GE remote IP PTZ camera

· RFID monitoring for equipment and personnel

· Auxiliary mains power with automatic mains failure



Fixed Communications Solutions

The new service can be designed to meet disaster recovery business requirements for communications and emergency management centres with a fixed deployment. It allows both immediate recovery with loss of telecommunications services and also alternative communications paths during for major regional state disaster events when public and private networks suffer congestion from large volumes of traffic.

This fixed service can also provide primary site communications in remote areas where intermittent but critical use is required. This includes mobile deployments with an automatic on vehicle set up and fixed communications sites.
