The flaw in the tulip argument is that we're not in the ancient Netherlands, and tulips aren't a prototype for something that will one day be incredibly useful.
It may be fuelled by speculation but there are the beginnings of fundamentals and more important a highly emotional market and tonnes of dumb herd money.
It's the wild west out there but what frontiersman doesn't want to grab some gold?
