My comment was in response to a false impression that republican states have increasing cases & democrat states decreasing.
I'm not interested in US politics.

Look at how steep the curve is for Hawaii (democrat state).
That's a straight line up

Telling someone they are wrong unfortunately doesn't make it true.

Anyway new cases doesn't mean much these days.
Doing more tests in a state could increase numbers.
Travellers from overseas could increase numbers.
There are a lot of factors to consider.

The only time to be concerned with new cases is when the origin is unknown & can't be traced.
That's when the virus continues to spread uncontrolled.
When the virus spreads to the elderly & unhealthy, then that should be of concern.
That will increase the death rate.

If the entire world catches it & nobody dies from it any more, nobody is going to care.

the more red the number is the bigger the steepness of the weekly increase it is. This is more 'dangerous' the situation it is in the state. As this shows the situation in that states situation is not under control.

it seems by the chart, more Democrat states have their situation under control than Republicans.
