and although consistent in giving his best,

Maybe time to spell and move him on to easier races outside the City next prep (May have to carry the grandstand though!). imo
Also noted : he is only 5 so may have another (one more) prep in him in Melbourne town but the writings on the wall. imo

As you suggest move him to QLD.............. maybe best?. imo
