Five women, four of whom worked for the US military, were found shot dead in a bullet-ridden car in western Baghdad.
Four of the women worked at a military base in the Iraqi capital, the 3rd Infantry Division said in a statement.
It gave no further details.
Insurgents have targeted Iraqis working for the US military frequently, following translators, cooks or others home and killing them execution-style.

The US military says nine police, two US soldiers and three civilians were injured.
The bomber blew himself up at a checkpoint in the east of the city.
Checkpoints were established at entrances to Ramadi last month after frequent attacks in the city.
Over the past few months, suicide car bombers have increasingly targeted checkpoints manned by US and Iraqi forces.
