I used to occasionally take a private bus too - correct weight driver - and he would wait until you were seated before taking off.
They prefer the right money as opposed to being slowed down giving change. Pay on entry.
Next stop thank you driver would go the call, not this bell ringing, and never would I alight without a - thank you driver.
You got to know the bus drivers over time. All decent nice guys.
Those were the days too when I would see a few I knew on the bus and seat swaps would happen and seats were offered to
oldies always. It was an excellent service and the people who did ride the bus were all polite.
