Wednesday August 21 - 24 Karats

SPI Futures traded in a 53 point range last night, with a high of 6503, low of 6450, and a close this morning of 6454, down 46 points, on low volume of 9,700 contracts. The 93 gap was dusted yesterday (giving a chance to add more shorts), then opened for the night session and went down the rabbit hole, leaving gaps up at 6497, 6486, 6463 and down at 6450 from last night and 6438, 6436 and 6433 from a previous day.

The US market taking a breather, waiting for Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's speech at Jackson Hole on Friday for signs of further interest rate cuts and his assessment of the US economy, saw the DOW down .66 pct, the SNP down .79 pct, and Canada (resource driven) down less, at .56 pct. VIX up 3.67 pct to 17.50. Have a nice day.



Today in 2018, Californian Representative Duncan Hunter was indicted for using over $250,000 in campaign funds for personal expenses, including holidays, and a flight in the main cabin, for his family's pet rabbit, Eggburt. His wife agreed to testify against him in exchange for a plea bargain agreement. Calls to Eggburt the rabbit were not initially returned, making Duncan hopping mad and worried the rabbit might sing like a bird too, as he noticed Eggburt had changed from being a fit bunny, to acting a bit funny. Eggburt probably has a hare-raising tail, err, tale to tell... First class on British Hare-ways, and something about a 24 carrot ring.. Way to go Eggburt, and we hope the story has a hoppy ending..
