That spike may have coincided with the PBOC daily rate setting for the yuan. I don't think the bots actually care what the rate is. If it's above or below the programmed estimate they buy or sell as instructed. Completely nuts but they sure can move markets.
Meanwhile XJO is still going for the weekly pivot methinks. Might just try for the 6500 while they're at it.
