Goodbye April, hello May. SPI Futures traded in yet another small 21 point range last night, with a high of 6324, low of 6303 and a close at the top of the range, at 6234, up 20 points on lowish volume of 8,983 contracts. Gaps from last down at 6319, 6313 and 6302, with 6302 being the close of the day session/open of the night session. Yesterdays opening day session also did not fill so is currently one of the 7 pct that do not fill as the opening gap trade is only a 93 pct probability, but still better than "I think she is going up". Also one up at 61, 70 and 82. DOW up .15 pct, SNP up .10 pct (setting a new high and up 3.9 pct for the month) and Canada (resource driven) down .12 pct. VIX up again bucking the inverse correlation - again - up .08 pct to 13.12. So, given the last 2 days of selling has the 'Sell in May and stay away' started already, or, a temporary setback before an upward move to fill that 82 gap. We shall see. My bets are placed. Have a nice day.

Today in 2000, "Gladiator" directed by Ridley Scott and starring Ressell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix premiered in LA and was voted Best Picture in 2001. I think the Gladiator was really about trading the SPI, given the quote from the movie "People should know when they’re conquered" and the way the market has behaved lately - "Are you not entertained?"
