SPI Futures traded in a 40 point range last night, with a high of 6728, low of 6688, and a close this morning at the magic round number of 6700, down 23 points on volume of 12,142 contracts. Based on that range, my pivot point and R and S levels are below. Numerous lower gaps filled last night, leaving ones above at 6704, 6721 and 6736, and below at 6681, 6671 and 6651 from a previous day, and more after that.
In the headlines. The usual suspects. Brexit didn't reach the exit. Earnings versus US rate cut hopium, Trump Trumpeting, Impeachment progressing, and US-China trade talks 'apparently' also progressing, but no cigar yet. US markets taking a breather, saw the DOW down .07 pct, SNP down .08 pct and Canada (resource driven) up .19, so some hope for the XJO today. VIX up .69 pct to 13.20.
Today in 2012, Walt Disney purchased Lucasfilm Ltd and its rights for Star Wars and Indiana Jones for $4.05 billion. Yes, a big number, but also big movie and franchise names. I'm working on my own movie, which I will call 'Chart Wars' in which I'm usually flying solo, and to quote Indiana Jones, "We do not follow maps to buried treasure, and X never, ever marks the spot". True, true, and to quote Obi-Wan Kenobi, "In my experience there is no such thing as luck.”
