SPI Futures traded in a 37 point range last night, with a high of 6637, low of 6600, and a close this morning of 6634, up 17 points, on low volume of 8,589 contracts. Based on that range, my pivot point and R and S levels are below. A gap up at 6636 from last night, then 6641, 6642 and 6646 from a previous day, and down at 6626, 6618, 6607, 6604 and 6601 from last night and then 6552 from a previous day.

The US market, waiting on inflation data and the European Central Bank's policy update later in the week, spent most of the day in the red, but ended with the DOW up .28 pct, SNP up .03 pct and Canada (resource driven) up .26 pct. VIX down .46 pct to 15.20. Have a nice day.

Today in 1951, Florence Chadwick became the first woman to swim the English Channel from England to France. It took her 16 hours and 19 minutes to finish, and made her the first woman to swim the English Channel in both directions, having swam from France to England in 1950. Florence was also the first woman to swim the Catalina Channel, the Straits of Gibraltar, the Bosporus and the Dardanelle, setting a time record each time. Yes, I can hear it now. "Honey, I know it's a bit nippy in the channel, but I'm just going for a quick swim, be back in 16 hours and 19 minutes exactly" to which the response was probably "No problem dear, I just did a quick trade, and hope to break even in around 16 hours and 19 minutes too"
