With pinning out of the way, I hope you had a good birthday @Goblin … I see you celebrated in great goblinesq style with a raucous pin tonight … see you back to mow night.

Well done to SIJoe, Papa, pb1 and M50 last night.

Based on recent rates announcement nights, I should have pinned low +ve like +50 tonight … but as US futures and European markets seem to be preempting a better outcome from the announcement and more so from Powell speaking 30 mins later. So I have punted on the market interpreting rate rises are done and not believing Powell suggesting otherwise.

I also just can’t see Powell riling markets right now, not when a rare soft landing seems in sight.
