Well, strong open then comes off and now strong recover to morning high on good retail sales. Frankly it is a short for me with spi around today high or 3800. It will be worth holding it for tonight session anyway.
S&P is very toppy and Alcoa news after the market closed is not good setup for US market and likely to lead to more earning downgrade in the US.
We could see range bounce for S&P and won't test low again until after 20th of January. Good luck.
