You mentioned about reduced crop yields here.
Some are trying to put a spin on it that it affects rural areas.
The fact is that although mining is the major export, agricultural exports are still a huge component in our economy.
This disasterous year will affect balance of trade and the numbers will not show up till mid next year.
Rural income is far more than local, be it local shopping of machinery puchases.
Others can give you GDP figures, but this is a major nail in the coffin of our exports and should mining suffer through reduced volumes or prices then it is more than a minor hiccup.
I don't suggest this is more than the pause that refreshes, but a 12 month hiatus would seem to be reasonable.
