Hi wadsworth,
Its a personal choice I guess no hard and fast rules, sometimes I like to have the oblique trendline running quite close, like up against the closes, sometimes it seems to fit touching the extremes of the bars, remembering that they are only a general guide but sometimes they seem to be respected quite well, simply cause everyone is watching them.
But then with your support resistance lines I do favour placing them on the closes of the bars not the extremes
