My investment strategy of finding those disruptive products or technology platforms early and holding big positions long term has worked well for me.
This is of course a very risk oriented strategy which requires a hands on active investor approach and a change in thinking.
Disruptions do not happen on a grand scale often. Internal Combustion Engine(ICE) technology has been dominant for 120 years and Electric Vehicles still only command a small but growing percentage of sales but by 2030 there will be no more ICE ever. That's a more than once in a lifetime opportunity. Same with flash memory that's been around for 35 years. That is eons in the world of tech but WBT is now at the forefront to disrupt this market and take a major share of it.
Disruption requires the right product at the right time. This is vitally important and by this I mean that all the things needed to cause disruption have to come together at the right time in history and the industrial cycle for them to succeed. Most people would not know the first car was not ICE powered but an EV. Just 120 yrs too early.
You can also have the right product at the right time but fail miserably without the right people to drive the disruption. These people are usually lateral thinking geniuses like Steve Jobs,Elon Musk and Dadi Perlmutter.
They see a different future and dare to create it out of nothing against all the odds and sceptics. Our job as investors is to find them early and back them before the masses. I believe Dadi, Cobi and the team at WBT tick all the boxes for disruption and the rewards are beyond most people's imagination.
Funnily enough I have found at least 5 more disruptive companies right here on the ASX but are not totally disruptive like WBT so it is hard to redirect capital which due to ISX and UPD is constrained atm but watch out next year lol. The charts on these companies are off the scale accumulation wise.
The changing of the guard from old tech to new happens all the time but rarely on such a grand scale as in the next 10 years. Those sticking with the old safe investments are about to be disrupted by newer faster and more nimble companies and there tech. Investors that ignore this do so at there peril.
