Great write up by Ron.....( see @writer and @taffyjuke above posts)
and we know what Jim Handy is talking about...

industry opinion and analysis of a fairly high order ....indicating this industry first breakthrough for nvm reram in Si0x has a ready made market of adoption - that is the challenge the company now faces head on .....
(commercialisation and adoption of nvm in the space...hence the upcoming full sub system demonstration.)

    why?
successfully remove transistors from the memory cell and you reduce the memory cell footprint.....ie stacking becomes viable - the memory cell stacks atop the selector ( and as the selector itself is nothing more than a layer sandwiched between electrodes so then.... the selector itself is smaller than a transistor ) and facilitates the ability of the memory array to also sit atop of the silicon substrate......groundbreaking development right there.....3D Xpoint had a go .....crossbar had a go.... Micron saw what 3D Xpoint was turning out and walked ....rubbish ...they're departing comment ...

(pretty much its rubbish in company terms .....my turn of phrase)

WBT have something very special going on and the industry players and customers will come calling imo

the implication of such an 'ability to stack' allows the formation of 3D memory arrays ....( which we know is a current stumbling block in the industry ) which potentially down the track opens up further product pathways for this startup = $$$$$$$

the bottom line is always cost benefit ( no cost benefit no adoption or market interest) ...these guys have the cheapest cost per bit manufacture and with the selector, a far smaller footprint as compared to the transistor alternative - free from that restriction (transistor scaling which is why Moores law is hitting a wall) creates further economies of scale and ROI...$$$$$

these are not my opinions - they are industry observations and analysis on what is being achieved by these guys in the space.

    exciting times ahead no doubt

stay patient and ignore the noise
