This may help you, but be sure to engage an accuntant. I am in retirement phase and manage my own SMSF (self managed super fund) mine was set up how I wanted it not the accountant's interest. By that the accountant did not direct me to products that he received commission on. All my funds are invested how I want.
The fund needs to be set up before you enter retirement phase. Once in retirement if set up properly the fund is free from tax encluding CGT
The Government rules are very strict, and have to be obeyed or you loose the benifited of SMSF.
The fund has to be audited each year. Rely on a good accountant.
