Do we really want anything to do with Government support. Imigine having our pollies with all their "knowledge" having a say.
Even if it were to be seen as being at arms length and inderpendent, they can cut funding as they done to the CSIRO as science was not in step with the government of the day's policies.
Change the NBN from world class system when government changed to a system that is worse that before.
The only half sensible thing they have done is sell the Commonwealth Serum Laboratary, in private hands it has flourished.
Do we really want anything to do with Government support....
