    @StoneyJerk

Great vid Stoney - thanks for posting
good to remember the simplistics of SiOx2 combined with the partners WBT have under the hood - and the management team / technical team assembled - they're not here cos they like firing shots in the dark ....

3DX point was meant to be the winner .....(I've posted this recently elsewhere and again I just don't think people get it - which is fine)
IMEC stated recently 3Dx point - its fantastic technology which it is, but its not cost benefit effective ! so its really rubbish
    (re post from previous )
    - overly dependent on lithography / lithographic tools
    - 100+ different materials required to be sourced through the supply chain
    - manufacture process cuts fab throughput by 15%
    - requires additional tooling to complete that manufacture process driving up capex / current capital expense X5 increase
    - fab spending increase and space requirement exceeds that for 3D NAND upgradeNAND survives partly for this reason
    - Intel sold it off as they thought Xpoint was the real deal ......IMEC are correct ...its a dog- limitations of vertical scaling exist- slower than DRAM - more expensive than NAND ....again zero cost benefit per bit
    - in fact revenue negative by definition- it only suits a niche market
    - Intel Optane SSD is fast but....and its the killer but for all the reasons above
    - its expensive for zero performance gain
all that time and effort and R&D and capex and marketing and in the end - is it any better ....nope!
( these are the facts of it - not my opinion)

Weebit SiOx2 Reram will prove to be.... well, lets wait and see...but its on its way biggrin.png
suffice to say Skywater did not agree to dedicate a production fab to a 130mm wafer sweet spot in a time when demand delerium is causing the US to throw billions at the industry - what ?? are they taking a production revenue hit in a peak period to set up wbts' SiOx2 because they are a benevolent society...ffs SJ - some posters really do have nothing upstairs hey
they're doing it because it fills the gap between NAND and DRAM atm and that is a market worth ...how many billions???
    and wipes flash NAND aside!...Completely!

(apologies to those who have seen this before - wipe NAND entirely ( NOR has an ongoing market no matter what)
and the orange smiley face to the right is the wbt graph icon....seed to burn and reaching DRAM like speed - oh go the nay sayers - thats ramping!!!....do your research people - the early Tour stats had it at DRAM near speed - exactly there on the graph above.... Ch and DP have kept that under the hood since those early days ....(if the tech failed prior to this point it would have been a self aggrandising and an unproveable claim)

cheepest cost per bit to adopt and manufacture = ongoing and increasing cost benefit overtime on depreciating fab lines - improving the cost bottom line exponentially.... understand these simple facts that are now in Skywater ( us owned and operated tier 2 fab ) and its a no brainer $$$$

Need to know anything about monolithic 3D NOR, NAND or DRAM ....this guy is the absolute guru - great fella as well ( used to be EEtimes chief editor back in the day) - happily answers any questions you may have
