Can't be too stringent safety measures given the worldwide history of various auto chip failures and deficiencies during recent years.
Certainly, automakers are waiting for anything that improves so many parameters of reliability as does weebit reram, let alone cost and performance.
How many recycled chips are finding their way into Chinese gear? Both used and out of design purposes. On Chinese roads and in Chinese traffic! Wait till they introduce self driving vehicles.
