by stating our quickest path forward after 22nm to achieve higher densities by 3d layering. I think you are forgetting about one of our main advantages (cost in production) and assuming we have met scale (B.S IMO-but yet to be proven).
The best path forward shall be scaling to lower geometries whilst in conjunction qualification of the selector.
The selector is the key to achieving higher densities in embedded and advancing discreet.
