CMOS technology was developed in the early 1960s. It came to dominate the electronics industry by the 1980s and still does. Flip-flops and data latches were invented in the 1930s and first implemented using thermionic valves. Today they are still with us in CMOS devices and still absolutely indispensable. We call them latches, buffers, registers, cache & SRAM.
So sure, it's probably only a question of when, but when can be a long time.
Before even attempting to predict the market life expectancy of WBT's technology you first need to know what will replace it.
