SambaNova systems and Cerebras are probably leading the space atm and both incorporate SRAM to free up the data flow bottleneck and system process capacity....AI processor - SRAM - CPU ....great system but cumbersome and energy hungry yet the data flow efficiency improvement created is a major system advantage as data volume is now the unmet need
rram and the AI processor block combined as a memory/compute SoC does remove the need for the cpu....gone....and is far more energy efficient than SRAM banks...with huge system area savings ....that brings iot and edge etc into play its just not available at the moment ....3 to 5 yrs seems realistic.....though with these guys and thier partners it would not surprise to see prototyping occurmuch sooner...data is demanding solutions
