The fact that a fund manager like Blackrock or State Street would take a long position on behalf of their investors and then lend out the shares to speculators in order to crush the SP astonishes me. Even more astounding is that are allowed to do it. The stock market is intended to raise capital for business and allow the general public to invest. With short selling, derivatives et al its more like a casino. Welcome to the ASX300; I hope you enjoy your stock being manipulated.
