in Jan 2023, we announced tape out to GF which IMO means demonstration at Leti (that analogy applies to 130nm with skyt)

Massive achievement given during those 8 months were the time when no fabrication line could spare capacity to research and develop as all full capacity.

For those waiting on an announcement that we have signed with GF. That’s already happened.and is broadcast via the website as a partner.

Its pretty clear, the Leti demonstration at 22nm in fdsoi was purpose designed for GF.

Timing for qualification ..,the billion dollar question

I am of the view normal timing for qualification (production run : initial tests) is circa 12 months
that said CH mentioned tier 1 shall be quicker to qualify than SKYT (makes sense, ability for a few production runs without greatly disrupting supply)

If, we rely on the tape out announcement on Jan 23 we are looking at end of this year / early 2024 for qualification and mass production.

if we (as I do) believe that GF shall expedite qualification , well my be early November 23.
