Talking of semiconductors in Australia, I attended a workshop at CSIRO in Sydney recently (details and link below). There was some discussion about what role Australia could play moving forward, but it seemed generally accepted that it would be way too expensive to build a fab plant here. But perhaps Advanced Packaging might be an option, as described in the Skellern talk. (no mention of ReRam, but note one slide shows "soaring cost of chip design" for advanced nodes between 14nm to 3nm. This could be where ReRam's relatively low production cost will come into play = game changer = $$$$$)
