They didn't make $100b profits ! Just look at the total numbers for the four years 2020-2023. They lost in total $579b and made $300b, so overall a cumulative loss of $279b over four years. That's a horrible track record. I certainly wouldn't want to "invest" in shorting if that was a typical return.
