Yes I agree with your perspective.
The advantage retail investors/traders have is they can be nimble and it is easy to get in and out of positions, even when there is limited liquidity.
They have the advantage of setting their own risk appetite commensurate with their own risk profile.
They can also. if they so choose, becomes very informed on company's, particularly given the amount of information readily available.
