sector representation is also considered. and despite well defined quantative criteria such as free float weighted market capitalization, liquidity etc. there are also some soft criteria applied by the index committee. this committee is made up of members from the S&P and the ASX. they can ultimately weigh in more soft factors into a rebalancing decision.
