Good Question,
This has just happened to another stock of mine (a Biotech however) and they cited the following benefits of redomiciling to the US:
Company X's board of directors (Board) believes that becoming a U.S. company and trading only onNASDAQ will provide many and varied benefits to Company X and its shareholders. The Company will havegreater access to a more cognisant and receptive capital market of (Company) value proposition, withcomparison companies trading at far greater market valuations, and an ability to expand to a muchbroader investor base. The Board also believes that the re-domiciliation may deliver certain additionalbenefits to Company X and its shareholders, including:
- Improved access to lower-cost equity capital in the U.S. markets, which are larger and morediverse than Australian capital markets, thus enabling future growth to be financed at a lowercost;
- a simplified corporate structure forpotential future merger, sale or acquisition transactions,which may increase Company X's US's attractiveness to potential merger partners, sellers oracquirers.
- Increased alignment with other prominent (Sector) companies that are already listedon Nasdaq which can enhance the group's visibility and reputation within the industry, makingit more attractive to potential investors, strategic partners, and other stakeholders;
- Increased attractiveness of Company X to a broader U.S. investor pool who previously couldnot invest in non-U.S. securities;
- By committing our presenceto the United States, we believe that our Company’s visibility to international investors will increasemarkedly, partly due to our value proposition compared to similar emerging (Sector) companies with apresent North Armerica.
