When you get to my age, a few years is not a long time. If we can achieve that in just a few years I will be very happy. I anticipate at least 10 years to fully catch up to NAND.
In the meantime there are lower hanging fruit: embedded NVRAM; EEPROM; Chiplets etc. These will provide the commercial pathway to ramp up the economies of scale.
Then there are applications for which NAND flash is unsuitable: IoT, compute-in-memory, neuromorphic computing.
It's going to be exciting.
All IMO.
