Weebit Nano’s ReRAM (resistive RAM) technology was showcased at CES 2025, as the company aims to provide an alternative to flash memory and its limitations. ReRAM technology is a specialized type of non-volatile memory that stores data by changing the resistance of a material and can maintain its state even if the device loses power. Weebit’s ReRAM takes advantage of the principle of ion movement and resistance switching within a metal-oxide layer. This provides several advantages over flash, as it can perform 10X-100X better and handle 100k to 1m read/write cycles. In addition, ReRAM is able to store and retain data for 10 years at 175°C or 20 years at 125°C, provides a 100X faster access time, and withstands up to 350X more radiation than traditional flash.
