The figures I've quoted in that table come directly from a count of the patents listed on the US patent site. Anyone here can verify them using the search term and link I have posted. The year tag in my table comes from the column "publication date" in the patent site, so its the number of patents in each year. There are undoubtedly some US patent applications that have be submitted but not yet published there. It's a quick look, not meant to be anything else. I'm actually surprised the numbers for WBT are much higher than BRN. From memory, both have about 50 patents in total.
