where will revenue come from then?
quite simple
put aside nre because that is simply the doorway to volume production.
DP went for the INTEL top job and the company did not understand he was proposing to capitalise Intels successful integrated approach to pc compute platforms where it had dominated market volume by expanding foundry alongside integrated.
DP knew mobile compute would eat away at integrated PC dominance so foundry alongside would allow intel to capitalise on the market shift to mobile.
The rest is history ....Intel went with Brian Krzanich - former chief operating officer....stuck with PC's and missed a massiveopportunity that TSMC capitalised on.
Imagine that - INTEL today would be an absolute market behemoth dominating the PC market and the foundry model to mobile.
they may well of had google, Nvidia and others in house who instead went with tsmc.
So intel has struggled to maintain volume production due to the decline in the PC market ....sad really
TSMC by contrast generate huge manufacturing volume for others pulling big revenue which lets them spend big to stay on top of next gen chip production.
this is DPs' bread and butter ...and not just - look across the bod - all of them are right there as well
WBT ....they have the chip material and function (resistive nvm) to fit into both the above production strategies.
that means volume production globally eventually.
That's the aim of these guys and their partners - volume production in both production / manufacturing models.
everyone wins .
plenty I think don't get that .....this company is not looking to be taken over - those sitting around waiting for an acquisition offer to wbt will wait a very very long time ....
look at where they are now and the team they are building - look at the market segments they are addressing with this product development / offering s
The day weebit are in volume production across 7 or 8 major foundry and IDMs on volume production I might consider selling .....just might.
....then again maybe not!
this is another perspective is all
these guys are building for multiple shots on goal and they are about to start taking the shots.....it will be very exciting to watch it all unfold .
