I've had a look back over the last couple of announcements and couldn't see anything mentioning a requirement for DD in association with the grant. Please let me know if I've missed something.
The only comment I've found is in the announcement from 27/4 where they referred to the drill program including diamond core.
RC drilling is much cheaper and quicker than DD but the drilling process breaks up the the rock that it drills through. The rock chips are returned to the surface, bagged and sent for analysis. DD is more expensive and slower, but is able to extract a continuous, intact core. This core can then provide extra understanding to the geos who can learn more about the nature and orientation of the rock, which can assist with further analysis of existing data.
RC to enter the hole to target depth and DD coring the target is referred to as diamond tailing, and that's what I believe they would be doing.
