Meme, well if you didn't speak English that explains a lot. It must be difficult to really get the whole nuance of songs if you aren't born n bred to English. It's got so many unwritten rules and quirky little tricks. I've got friends who learnt English long ago and speak like natives. But sometimes I'm amazed at how they misinterpret stuff. When I explain the "true meaning" they shake their heads and say "how can that be?" I just say, "that's how it is."

Yeh, I know, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Judy Collins etc etc. All Canadians. But trained in USA. imo
