The concerns expressed about simulators are; 1. that the IT people tend to be leading the push for simulator education, not the medical educators; and 2. there is an over- dependence on short-term courses. Hopefully the MVH chiefs wil have answers to these criticisms. The article did hint that research on the effectiveness of medical simulators has not been published yet, but preliminary findings appear encouraging.
