Sskim for me with regards to deciding the right anchor point for the median line. I will look for price action to appear to notice this line. For instance there could be numerous touches on this line or gaps either side of it. Thats why I like to use programs where I can move the anchor point around to see how this corresponds with the price action. It takes alot of practice but after awhile they start to jump out at you before you even apply them to the charts.
