SF, thanks for your post. I understand what you say, but your original post did sent me looking through charts playing the devil's advocate. ALways good to second-guess myself.
In the case of BHP, there are several downside gaps to fill, and in 20 of the last 28 years, there was a down move from the end of February into early March, most very small indeed though.
My own concern about heading higher from here for some majors is non-confirmation of Friday's bounce by several indicators.
So while I expected the bounce, and expect to go higher..... I'm also a little cautious.
