It's such a national obsession ingrained in our culture we aren't even aware of it , maverick.
Other countries i have lived in are mercifully free of tall poppy syndrome, a pecularily aus phenomenon.
And we all express 'amazement' when a foreign coy buys one of ours out at a much higher s.p. than we give it, ad nauseum..As if these foreign majors are justoverly generous naive things..lol.It's about the only time we see the true value for some of our stocks.
