This thread is about ponderings ... anything and everything to get pin devotees through the weekend and public holidays when markets are closed.

it’s a long but captivating read ... what happened in the hours, days, years and eons after a 6km wide meteor impacted Earth at over 40,000 km/hr ... an instant ending to the Cretaceous period and the reign of dinosaurs.

Some tid bits, the crater was 18 km deep, almost penetrating the earths crust ... 53 trillion tonnes of debris became airborne ... massive jets of molten lava were ejected right out of earth’s atmosphere into space and ended up on some nearby heavenly bodies ... life on earth prior had been teaming ... life on earth after was basically a dire reset.

A fascinating and compelling read and, towards the end an account of what happened in the first hour after the impact.

Major meteor impacts have happened multiple times in earth’s history and WILL happen again ... this is possibly how the world ends ... but enjoy yourselves and in particular enjoy your pinning in the meantime.
