benny, my problem with the auction results stems from them being inconsistent between the different reporting bodies (e.g. APM vs REIV vs RPData). If they were all similar results then we could have some faith in them (most likely), unfortunately that is not the case.
Here are (REIV) auction results from this year graphed, also interesting to not the huge increase on number of properties auctions vs last year (TTLY is number of auctions last year on same weekend):
