Lol, so true, and agree on the dead in the water, but I've even looked closely at Mark up and Mark down and depending on the steepness of the trend the exact same action plays out, just adjusted for the trend.
You can even mark out steep trending channels as they are based on 3 points (Ph.A Stopping Action) they are just weaker based on there obvious angle reducing their effectiveness upon marking up or down out of the range, which in a downtrend Accumulation Markup could simply be sideways and vice versa for Uptrend a Distribution, and the Uptrending channels breaking higher appear to show a particular level of aggressiveness if they can break even higher from an already uptrending range, (see MOY Uptrending channel below) and the same in reverse.
Roman teaches this stuff with a passion and understanding well beyond my self limited education, his videos are extremely insightful, and I'm yet to listen to them all but intend to, even if it's on the road listening while I travel.
I was lucky enough to hook up online with one of his students who set me straight on some finer points, it's the detail that makes all the difference, like your reference to the tiny Spring showing the greatest strength, without detail these things are missed, like a great poker player watching for the 'tell'.
You are spot on with everything can change with tomorrow's bar as well, must avoid becoming one eyed and rigid in thinking and remain flexible and responsive to any negative change in the plan.
I thought we had seen MOYs Backing up Action after MSOS already when looking at the Horizontal Trading Range and were ready for Phase E, however after today's pullback on very low volume (No Supply?) I was forced to reassess.
I've detailed the aggressive uptrending channel that cleared highest point in range (MSOS) and today's bar completed potential Backing up Action with a test of the breakout from the Trading Range (BUEC), looking for the move to Phase E (Markup outside Trading Range). If this clears .26 before Friday I'll be feeling extremely confidant, failure to launch would cause some concern.
I've included the reverse channel in green as well, shows some serious Short Term potential.
