Dacata, the number of coal ships waiting to load at Newcastle is provided by Reuters on a weekly basis, not by counting bankers. BTW, CZA's coal port is Richards Bay in South Africa, it might be different from Newcastle.
What do you mean with energy prices should rise due to the weakening GBP? What is the impact on CZA?
Despite slowing energy demand in South Africa, it is important to note that the new demand outlook of Eskom is not severe enough to force a review of the current projects.
"Therefore, the two coal-fired stations, Medupi and Kusile, which would together add nearly 9 600 MW to the Eskom system by 2017; the remaining return-to-service projects (3 645 MW); the three peaking projects (the Ingula pumped-storage scheme, the doubling-up of the open-cycle gas-turbines in the Western Cape, and the Sere wind project) that would add 5 032 MW; and the new capacity associated with the Arnot upgrade (300 MW), would continue as initially planned."
