@VinP. I was wondering how their unlisted fund was going ! I don’t know how you would get to find out unless you were a holder though ? Looking at my holdings, my biggest losses are in those LICs where the managers have large holdings ie Cadence and Karl. He had 22 million reasons not to stuff up, but he did in grand style and dragged those of us less able down with him. CDM has been a complete farce.
MG and GC1 is similar with Axcesstoday, but I am concerned that even though MG calls his SH, fellow investors, the post above from egl demonstrates that sometimes an LIC can be too small and if your “gun” portfolio manager is distracted or sees more important opportunities elsewhere, we suffer.
The GC1 website is tired, out of date with almost everything, the videos are old, there are no weekly newsletters anymore and it is difficult when you see a monthly NTA report seeing how good a particular stock has been for the portfolio, but that the NTA hasn’t been increased dramatically,or the SP.
Makes you wonder if the manager is punting rather that investing, and with a fairly small fund, any losses seem to be magnified, and affect confidence in Potential investors.
This fund started out with a bang, but has unfortunately developed into a very tired and underperforming LIC. MG really took the initiative with AFterpay, but this now appears to be history !
