Think of the chart as a reflection of what is happening with the share price. That makes it "real"
Yes with smaller less liquid stocks there can be manipulation of charts but this is usually a short term issue only.
E.g. a large buyer seeing it close to support may push it below support to flush out new sellers.
Or a seller can push it above resistance to "suck in" new buyers to sell into.
Another example of short term noise may be yesterdays spike down which may have been nothing more than one holder taking a late tax loss.
So you need to ignore the very short term "noise" and watch the overall trend and the trend changes that develop over time.
